As born-again believers, we are filled with the Holy Spirit, who will protect us and guide us into all truth.
- "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." (John 16:13)
And Jesus Perceived the Thoughts of Their Heart
- "But Jesus knowing their thoughts.." (Matthew 9:4)
- "But Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them.." (Matthew 12:25)
- "But when Jesus perceived their thoughts.." (Luke 5:12)
- "But He knew their thoughts" (Luke 6:8)
- "And Jesus, perceiving the thoughts of their heart.." (Luke 9:47)
Jesus is the Eternal Word of God
- "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." (John 1:1-5)
The Word of God Discerns the Thoughts and Intents of the Heart
- "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)

People Who Had the Gift of Hearing
Elisha hears what the King says in the intimate setting of his bedroom!
- "And one of his servants said, “None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.” (2 Kings 6:12)
David hears the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees
- "Then the Philistines once again made a raid on the valley. Therefore, David inquired again of God, and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them; circle around them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. And it shall be, when you hear a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.” (1 Chronicles 14:13-15)
God Uses Hearing to Protect His Anointed from the Enemy
The Lord causes the Syrians to fall into confusion by hearing the noise of chariots and horses in the spirit
- "For the Lord had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses—the noise of a great army; so they said to one another, 'Look, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us!” (2 Kings 7:6)
The Gift of Hearing in the Body of Christ
Let me encourage you, brothers and sisters, the perceived thoughts you hear and sense in your inner man bear witness with the Holy Spirit. This is a hearing that comes from the witness of the Holy Spirit, not from attacks on the mind. As the bible says, the Spirit of God becomes one with our spirit, being joined together. Trust the Holy Spirit and keep a journal on what He is saying about friends, family, acquaintances, environments, and discerning of spirits. The witness of God is not limited to proximity, but you will hear people's thoughts from their hearts, whether they are near or far. When you go through trials and the inner word of the Lord is proven true, you will stand fast with a new confidence, knowing the steadfast love of the Lord endures forever.
Grace and peace to you, Fallon
"But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him."
